True to the all inclusive resort experience he led us to select our favorites and added in a few of his recommendations to our surprise. As my husband and I slipped into the infinity pool outside our 3rd floor ocean front suite, Luis unpacked all of our luggage; hanging the dress attire, organizing the shoes and even pressing our delicates. You read that right - our butler unpacked our luggage.
But let me backup because I don’t want you to miss that devilish detail; all of the rooms are oversized oceanfront, infinity pool suites. You can hop into your own mini pool directly off your balcony any time of day or night. The ocean constantly rolls over the longest stretch of coral reef in the gulf of Mexico only to crash onto miles of shoreline stretched out in front of your most relaxing vacation ever. This is not the kind of view where you have to crane your neck out the window and hope you don’t drop your phone in trying to capture a picture of the ocean so you can brag to the rest of the world about the view from your room. This is the type of unobstructed view that is so breathtaking that you put your phone away and forget about the rest of the world.
Staying at El Dorado Generations gives you access to 2 other resorts down that massive stretch of beach; El Dorado Casitas Royale and El Dorado Royale. You have complete access to all of their restaurants, activities, and amenities as a premium guest of Generations Riviera Maya but guests staying at those resorts will not have access to yours.
It is worth noting that I’d previously stayed at the El Dorado Royale and the El Dorado Casitas Royale. All three resorts are 5 star and hold the highest level of excellence when it comes to service, dining and experience. I often get asked if the price difference between the aforementioned properties and the Generations property is worth it. My answer is vehemently; yes! If your budget allows for the move up to Generations, you’ll never be sorry. The biggest differentiating factors are the size and layout of the suites, the convenience and luxury of the infinity pool in your room and Luis, your personal butler. Whether you are travelling with your partner for a romantic getaway, your multi generation family or a group of friends, these 3 elements will set a new standard for your vacation. Simply put, Generations Riviera Maya is one of the best all inclusive resorts that you will find.
For those of you who hesitated when you realized Generations is a family friendly resort, fear not. El Dorado Royale and El Dorado Casitas Royale are both adults only. When you want to have an adults only day at the pool or dance late into the evening, you will find it a few steps down the beach. And if you are bringing the kids along, take advantage of the Nanny service at Generations and squeeze in a little mommy, daddy time while you’re at it.
I would be remiss if I didn’t tell you that there are a few can’t miss experiences during your stay; here are my recommendations. Get a beachfront sky massage in the open air palapas. While spa services are an additional charge be sure to work it into your budget. It is life changing. Eat at JoJo’s Caribbean Seaside Grill at the Royale property, more than once if you can! Spend an entire day in a beach cabana at Generations - your butler will reserve your spot for you and check on you throughout the day while servers wait on your hand and foot bringing you food and drinks as often as you like! Lastly, let your butler unpack and repack for you. It might feel odd at first, but trust me you’ll get past that feeling when you realize what a difference it makes in your entire vacation.
If you’ve been to an all inclusive resort in the past this will take the bar you’ve set and kick it to the moon. If you’ve never tried the all inclusive resort experience, don’t be afraid to start at the top and make Generations Riviera Maya your first.
